Why Choose a Doula?
Doulas really do make a difference!

Research shows that having a Doula increases confidence during pregnancy, help you feel educated and make informed decisions about your birth. Having emotional support by a Doula during the post partum period has proved to decrease post-natal depression and anxiety, promote healthy breast feeding relationships and help you feel more confidence as you transition through the newborn stage. All women deserve and should have continuous support through pregnancy and labour.

Studies have shown that a woman choosing a Doula are:

-
less likely to have a medically induced labour
-
less likely to have synthetic oxytocin
-
less likely to ask for epidural or drugs
-
less likely to be dissatisfied with their birth
-
more likely to have shorter labours
-
less likely to have a caesarean
-
less likely to have an instrumental birth (forceps, vaccum)
-
less likely to have a baby with low APGAR scores.

It's never too late to welcome the support of a Doula

No matter where you are on your journey, you don't have to walk it alone. Whether you've just found out you are pregnant, are already halfway through, or are preparing in the final weeks of pregnancy, having a Doula by your side can bring comfort, guidance, and reassurance.
If you feel called to have gentle, nurturing support through pregnancy, birth and beyond, get in touch for a chat today. I would love to walk alongside you and support you through.
